Hey,

I'm Ian.

I was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, and moved to St. John's as a youngster. I retired as a paramedic with over 35 years of dedicated service, including 20 years living in NS. I have had passion for birdwatcher and photographer since high school and have spent years exploring Newfoundland’s diverse landscapes in search of its incredible birdlife. I think I bring a deep knowledge of local species and habitats to every outing, I love sharing my insights with visitors. Whether you’re an experienced birder or just beginning, I love sharing my nature and knowledge with others. I am always happy to answer questions and help others discover the rich birdlife and natural beauty Newfoundland has to offer.

My Family

Where is a person without his family. My sole mates are my pets.

Rufus is a German Wirehaired Pointer X Beagle. He adopted me as a rescue in 2018 an the age of 1. He loves going on adventures with me, and loves meeting people.

Hailey & Felicity are partial Calico sisters, that I adopted from a local rescue. They came into my life in 2016, while the have a few spats as any sisters would, they are basically inseparable.

Willow is a Tuxedo (Black and white) cat. She was part of a large feral dump litter. Was rescued by Feral Felines Rescue & Rehabilitation in Lethbridge NL. She joined the family in 2018.
